At the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa On the 150th Anniversary
of the Proclamation of Saint Joseph
as Patron of the Universal Church
2021 YEAR OF ST. JOSEPH December 8, 2020 to December 8, 2021

Our lives are woven together and sustained by ordinary people, people often overlooked. People who do not appear in newspaper and magazine headlines, or on the latest television show, yet in these very days are surely shaping the decisive events of our history. They understood that no one is saved alone. Each of us can discover in Joseph—the man who goes unnoticed, a daily, discreet and hidden presence—an intercessor, a support and a guide in times of trouble. Saint Joseph reminds us that those who appear hidden or in the shadows can play an incomparable role in the history of salvation.

Pope Francis, Apostolic Letter “Patris Corde”

The Holy Year of St. Joseph, proclaimed recently by Pope Francis, began on December 8, 2020 and will end on December 8, 2021. It is a special time dedicated to grow in our relationship with God through the intercession and imitation of St. Joseph. The religious Order of St. Paul the First Hermit – The Pauline Fathers & Brothers – have always had a particular devotion to St. Joseph, honoring Him in a special way every Wednesday.

Celebrating the Holy Year of St. Joseph, we would like to invite our Shrine community and all our pilgrims, to discover this patron saint of the Universal Church and grow in our devotion to Him. On this page you will be able to find some useful resources, links and learn more about different pastoral initiatives, which will honor St. Joseph at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa.
