Be Not Afraid! Family Vocation Day

Family Vocation Day took place at our Shrine on Saturday, June 15. It was a wonderful day of discernment, prayer, and fellowship. The theme of this event were the inspiring words of St. John Paul II: “Be Not Afraid”. The Pope has been a great inspiration in his life and teaching on how to invite Jesus Christ into our lives. He constantly repeated the words of our Savior – “Be not afraid!” – and he invited all of us to “open wide the doors for Christ!”. Several religious communities, including the Pauline Fathers & Brothers, Little Servants of Mary Immaculate, Benedictine Missionary Sisters, Fathers of Mercy, Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, Religious Sisters of Mercy of Alma, as well as seminarians and Vocation Director from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Bishop Timothy Senior, Auxiliary Bishop of Philadelphia and Rector of St. Charles Seminary was the main celebrant and a homilist during the 11:30 am Mass. A keynote speaker was Leah Darrow, a former model (contestant on America’s Next Top Model), as well as an international Catholic speaker, writer, and above all a wife and a mother.
