Dear Friends of American Czestochowa,
We were all shocked by the recent outbreak of war in Ukraine. The measure of its destruction, which not only affected the walls of cities, also shook the walls of human hearts, bringing into them anxiety, sadness, and uncertainty of tomorrow. Because of this war many people have lost their loved ones, who will never be brought back to life, others are left without a roof over their heads and without the necessary resources for survival.
The Pauline Fathers minister on four continents, in over 70 parishes and monasteries. Five of them are located in the Ukraine: Kamianets-Podilskyi, Sataniv, Ruzhyn, Mariupol’ and Brovary. The last two cities are in the fighting zone and are under heavy fire. People spontaneously come to our monasteries to seek shelter during the nights in our basements, as well as to find food and any other necessary means for survival.
Therefore, we encourage all those who wish to support the victims of war in Ukraine and the Pauline Fathers who minister to them, to donate for this cause. The offerings made through our Shrine and our website will be forwarded directly to the Pauline Fathers in Ukraine, who will use these funds to provide the necessary assistance to those in need.
Thank you for your generosity and your open hearts that, despite the distance, share closeness with those who fear but still fight for their homeland. Let us not forget them in our prayers and in our concrete acts of kindness.
