Monastic Retreat in Doylestown

Monastic Retreat in Doylestown

he Pauline Fathers and Brothers minister to the Church in USA in many different places, among them especially at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa in Doylestown, PA (American Czestochowa), as well as in other parishes and monasteries. Every year the Paulines gather together for their annual monastic retreat. It is a time when they can put aside their pastoral responsibilities and renew their relationship to Jesus Christ and revisit their monastic roots, looking back at their vocation.

Monastery Retreat

This year the Pauline Monastic Retreat took place in the monastery in Doylestown, PA from October 8th to 13th. 16 Priests and religious brothers have participated, including two Priests from outside of our Order. Our Father and Brothers came from various parishes and monasteries in USA: Doylestown (Pennsylvania), Harwood Heights (Illinois), Summerfield (Floryda), Yonkers (New York), Kittaning (Pennsylvania), Buffalo (New York) and Rockville (Connecticut). This year the retreat master was Fr. Maksymilian Stepien, a pauline, who works in the Parish of St. Anthony and the Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa, called “Little Jasna Gora” in Wroclaw, Poland. Fr. Maksymilian is also an exorcist for the Archdiocese of Wroclaw.  During the retreat he invited the participants to deepen their prayer life and their relationship with Jesus Christ, as well as to be the witnesses of the Gospel in their pastoral activities. Fr. Maksymilian will also lead, a second term of the retreat to the rest of the Fathers and Brothers of the American Province, in the Monastery of St. Paul the First Hermit in Kittaning, PA from October 22nd to 27th.
