Christmas decorations at our Shrine

The exquisite Christmas decorations are displayed at our Shrine every year during the Christmas season. This year they will be up until January 20th, 2019.  A light show of 100,000 outside lights and 8000 inside lights; many locally-purchased Christmas trees standing over 12 feet tall; an outdoor live Nativity scene with animals; and an indoor Neapolitan-style Nativity scene with over 40 moving statues, located to the right of the main altar, are just some of the Christmas attractions which surround visitors with a festive ambience. Christmas Nativity Play by Polish School

Christmas Nativity Play performed and prepared by the Polish School of Our Lady of Czestochowa at our Shrine took place on the Epiphany of the Lord, on January 6, in the Main Church at 12:30 pm Polish Mass. Blessing of the Monastery on the Epiphany of the Lord

On January 6th, on the Epiphany of the Lord, in accord with the Pauline tradition, annual monastery blessing took place in Doylestown. Every room and cell, the chapel and even the kitchen of the monastery has been blessed. The doors have been marked with C+M+B (Christus Mansionem Benedicat). New Shrine Director

Effective January 1, 2019, Fr. Mikolaj Socha OSPPE has been appointed by Father. Provincial as the new Director of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa in Doylestown, PA. Fr. Mikolaj has replaced Fr. Edward Volz OSPPE who has been the Director of the Shrine for the number of years. We wish many blessing to the new Director and please keep him in your prayers....

Christmas Concert

The joy of the Nativity of the Lord has been expressed and celebrated at our Shrine in song and music during the Christmas Concert, that took place in St. Anne’s Chapel on Sunday, December 30, 2018. Carols and hymns were sung both in English and Polish. Church Elevator – Construction Progress

Fr. Edward Volz OSPPE, Director of the Shrine, gave a little tour on the recent progress of the contstruction of the new church elevator at our Shrine. The elevator is attached to the Main Church and the Chapel of Our Lady of Czestochowa. It will also contain “The Heritage Hall” with memorial trees. The hall will be dedicated to all the victims of Communism and there will be bronze sculptures dedicated to the heroes from these days in Poland – Saint John Paul II, Blessed Jerzy Popieluszko and Venerable Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski.......

Christmas Bazaar & St. Nicholas at American Czestochowa

On December 9th, Our Lady of Czestochowa Polish School at our Shrine, organized an annual Christmas Bazaar. The Bazaar took place in the Shrine’s Cafeteria. It was also an opportunity to see St. Nicholas, who was giving sweet gifts to all the children. There were many vendors at this fair, who presented many Polish products and decorative items related to the upcoming Christmas. Among many booths there were Christmas tablecloths, olive tree sculptures, jewelry, winter clothing, Christmas wreaths, ornaments, as well as delicious Polish sweets – pastry, cakes and candy – prepared......
