The Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord at the Shrine and at the Monastery of Pauline Fathers and Brothers in Doylestown, PA. On this day at all Masses we have blessed chalk and incense to bless our homes and to inscribe C+M+B on our doors. The letters traditionally signify the name of the Magi, the Three Kings (Caspar, Melchior, and Balthasar) and also are an abbreviation of a house blessing “Christus mansionem benedicat”, which means, “May Christ bless this house”. Palm Sunday – the Sunday of the Passion of the Lord, which this year was celebrated on April 14th, is a special day of preparation for the Easter Triduum. During all the Masses at our Shrine, the Passion of the Lord was read. The blessing of palms took place during all the Masses, commemorating in this way the solemn entrance of Jesus to Jerusalem. Every year a retreat for Polish Youth from the Polish Schools on the East Coast of the United States is organized at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa.
