Celebrating the Life, Teaching, and Legacy of St. John Paul II

The Pauline Fathers & Brothers would like to invite everyone to the celebrations in honor of St. John Paul II at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa. These festivities are meant to celebrate the life, teaching and legacy of the Polish Pope and formulate present day inspirations in ministry, education, and evangelization. This relates to the evangelization project, which was made possible by a grant from the Ambassador’s Fund for Catholic Education: Understanding, Appreciating and Promoting Our Catholic Intellectual Heritage Through the Teaching of St. John Paul II” (2021-22 Grant #10). The celebrations will take place from October 16th to October 23rd. The schedule of the celebrations is on the poster and on the Shrine website. We hope that you can join us for many of these inspiring events.

We would especially like to invite you for our main event during these festivities, which will take place on Sunday, October 16th at 11:00 am in the Main Church. This day marks two important anniversaries – the election of Karol Wojtyla to the papacy (1978) and the dedication of our Shrine’s Main Church (1966). Most Rev. Michael Fitzgerald, Auxiliary Bishop of Philadelphia will be the main celebrant and a homilist during this celebration.
