Corpus Christi at American Czestochowa

On Sunday after the the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, the Church in USA celebrates the Solemnity of the Host Holy Body and Blood of Christ - Corpus Christi. On this feast day, we worship Christ present in the Eucharist and we thank Him for His great love that He showed us by being present for us in the form of bread and wine. At the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa two solemn Masses were celebrated on that occasion - at 11:00 AM in English and at 12:30 PM in Polish. During the English celebration, the congregation was able to pray with Our Lady of Czestochowa Choir and Orchestra, which made the liturgy very solemn and beautiful.

The Polish Mass was celebrated by Fr. Tadeusz Lizinczyk, the Provincial of the Pauline Order in USA. In his homily, Father Provincial spoke about the special presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, out of His love for us. Fr. Tadeusz also emphasized the importance of the Eucharist as a source of hope for change in our lives, and as well as a source of unity in the midst of diversity.

The representatives of the "Polonia Technica" were also present among the faithful at the Mass. It is an Association of Polish-American Engineers, established in 1941 in New York City, by a group of Polish engineers, who, after the outbreak of the World War II, found themselves in the United States of America. At the end of the Eucharist, the representatives of "Polonia Technica" thanked the Pauline Fathers and Brothers for their prayers and their ministry to the Polish community in USA.

After the 12:30 PM Mass, a traditional Corpus Christi procession to the four altars took place on the Shrine grounds. The Eucharistic procession was attended by the Pauline Fathers and Brothers from Doylestown Monastery, representatives of various groups and communities, children form the Polish Saturday School, altar servers, and numerous pilgrims who came for this solemnity to the Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa.
