INTERNATIONAL DAY - One Heart, One Spirit Print E-mail

International Day 2018

The Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa in Doylestown is a place visited by many different nationalities, not only of Polish descent. A great sign of that diversity was the First International Day, which was organized at our Shrine. The theme of this day "One Heart, One Spirit", relates to the first chapter of the Acts of the Apostles, where all the  Apostles "joined together constantly in prayer, along with Mary the Mother of Jesus (Acts 1: 14). This unity was made visible by the various nationalities that have participated in this celebration: USA, Poland, Italy, Nigeria, Mexico, Scotland, Hungary, El Salvador, Guatemala, Philippines, Peru, Ecuador. They all came to the Shrine for the same reason - to pray together. The celebration of the International Day took place on Sunday, April 15th with the solemn procession to the Church and presentation of the different countries. After that, everyone participated in the Holy Mass at 11:00 AM, which was celebrated by Fr. Krzysztof Drybka, Prior of American Czestochowa.

During His homily Fr. Krzysztof encouraged everyone to get to know each other better and to remember that with our diversity we make one family of the children of God. The representatives of each country read the petitions of the Universal Prayer in their own languages, as well as they participated in the offertory procession, brining gifts that are characteristic to their culture. After the Mass, the second part of the celebration took place at the Shrine Cafeteria, where cultural and artistic programs were presented. The First International Day was organizied by Rocio Higney and Fr. Krzysztof Drybka OSPPE.
